Tree Planting Kinale Forest

The State Department for Transport has this morning participated in the International Day of Forests by planting trees in Kinale forest, Kiambu County. This year's theme is ''Forest and Innovation".

The Tree Planting exercise was officiated by the SDoT Senior Deputy Secretary, Mr.Ibrahim Abdi who was hosted by Mr. Samuel Kariuki the Deputy County Commissioner, Lari Sub-County, Kiambu County Forest Conservator Mr.Thomas Kiptoo, Kinale Community Forest Association, State Department for Transport staff and members of the local community. The State Department is growing 16,000 trees (exotic and indigenous) in 10ha adopted land.

Among those present, were 8 Foresters, 22 Forest Rangers and more than 200 Kinale Community Forest Association members.
