The Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology (KIHBT) has built an ultra-modern resource centre at their Field Practical Unit Ngong Campus.

The project was constructed at a cost of Kshs. 235 Million, funded by the exchequer, and it is part of the Ministry of Roads and Transport’s commitment to upgrading the facilities in the training Institution to meet international standards so that they could be the training centre of choice on highways and building infrastructure in the region.

The resource centre consists a meeting room with a capacity for 150 people, a large meeting hall, a restaurant, 40 self-contained rooms, four executive suites and a rooftop barbecue serving area.

The Resource Centre was officially commissioned by the Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport Mr. Davis Chirchir, and he was accompanied by the Principal Secretary for Roads Eng. Joseph Mbugua and area MP Hon. Onesmus Nguyayu.

He urged the Institution to commercialise the use of the resource center to boost their revenue base so that they could support the initiation of more such projects and improve their capacity to enrol more students.
