CS met members of Parliament for Stafford and UK Prime Minister's Trade

Nairobi, Wednesday September 20,2023 Today, Cabinet Secretary Hon. Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen met with the Member of Parliament for Stafford and UK Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Kenya Theodora Clarke at Transcom House, Nairobi.

They discussed the progress made towards the commencement of construction work for the Nairobi Railway City, a multimodal project that was officially launched by H.E. the President in December last year.

He appreciated the Government of the United Kingdom for the financial and technical support that they have extended to Kenya in the implementation of this project, which will have several components including an ultramodern Central Station, public realm, school housing, office buildings, among others. 

The Railway City, whose construction is scheduled to begin in January 2024, will help to decongest the City of Nairobi, create 10,000 jobs directly and indirectly, provide a clean and green urban space, establish a multimodal transport network, and position Nairobi as the region's commercial hub.
