Cascading of the Performance Contract (PC) for the State Department for Transport

Performance Contracting (PC) has been an effective performance management tool in the service delivery of the Kenyan Government since 2014. The 20th PC cycle PC’s were signed between H.E. the President and Cabinet Secretaries on 1st August 2023. Subsequently, the PS State Department for Transport signed the PC with the CS Ministry of Roads & Transport on 8th September 2023.   
Today, 6th October 2023, the State Department for Transport PC was cascaded to the next level of Directorates and Departmental leadership where respective heads signed their PCs with the PS State Department for Transport. The directorates/departments are: Air Transport, Air Accident Investigation, Shipping and Maritime, Road and Rail, Finance, Human Resource Management and Development, Supply Chain Management, Information Communication Technology, Accounts, Administration, Central Planning and Project Monitoring. 
The PS re-emphasized the need to work very hard in order to realize the ambitious but achievable set objectives. “This year is the time to shine” the PS added. Collaboration and working closely with the stakeholders was highlighted as a key component in achieving the set targets.
The commitment made by the team in the Performance Contracts will contribute to improved transport sector service delivery to the Kenyan citizens.
