Mombasa’s Moi International Airport Wins Prestigious International Award

The prestigious Airports Council International (ACI World) has awarded Moi International Airport (MIA), Mombasa, the 2023 Best Airport by Size and Region in the Under 2 million Passenger per Year category for Africa. This recognition comes as part of the esteemed ACI Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Survey, which rigorously assesses global passenger experiences.
MIA received recognition for its exceptional passenger experiences. ACI World's ASQ Awards are based on metrics that assess the customer experiences of passengers who used the airport the previous year, gathered though Departure and Arrival Surveys. 
Since its inception in 2006, the ASQ program has solidified its reputation as the leading airport passenger satisfaction benchmark, with participation from more than 400 airports in 109 countries.
MIA previously earned the title for the best airport in the same category for Africa in 2021 and 2022, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to passenger service excellence.
The award comes as the Government opens up Moi International Airport to more international flights in a bid to increase tourist arrivals to Mombasa and the coast region at large.
