CS for Roads and Transport Meets Rwandan High Commissioner To Kenya

In the government's efforts to promote business at the Port of Mombasa and the use of the Northern corridor, the Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport Hon Kipchumba Murkomen EGH today met with the Rwandan High Commissioner to Kenya, Mr. Martin Ngoga.

Hon. Murkomen thanked Mr. Ngoga for the support the Kenyan Government has been receiving from the Rwandan Government and business community on the use of the Port of Mombasa and the Northern corridor.

They discussed ways of improving efficiency at the Port of Mombasa.

The CS urged government agencies and other service providers to take advantage of the 24-hour service at the port to improve service delivery.

They further discussed ways of removing impediments to trade, such as non- tariff barriers, unnecessary roadblocks on the Northern corridor, and the decongestion of the Malaba border.

He thanked the Government of Rwanda for their interest in establishing their cargo handling facility at the Naivasha Dry Port, which will further boost the transit of good between the two countries.

Rwanda is a strategic partner for Kenya and the East African Community as a whole, and we shall continue strengthening and deepening our diplomatic, business, and political relations.
